William J. Biggins, 81, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He was born April 25, 1942, in Cleveland the son of Edmund R. and Sylvia S. (Maenpaa) Biggins.
William served in the Army National Guard and was employed as a locomotive engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad for over 32 years. He served as the Local Union Representative during that time.
A father of four boys, William loved to play sports in the back yard with his boys and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Football and Cleveland Browns fan. After high school, Bill sailed the Great Lakes on the Charles M. White ship and others. He loved being on the lake and loved to fish. He was very outgoing and enjoyed being around people.
He married Antonette (Bartone) on September 24, 1963, in Lackawanna, NY; She survives along with their three sons: Edward (Susie) Biggins of Cincinnati, Shawn Biggins of Sandusky, and Steven Biggins of Fremont; grandchildren: Sophia, Jacob, Abigail, Naomi, Austin and Abby; a brother, Robert Biggins and sister, Irene Blanchard; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Biggins.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and son, William M. Biggins.
Friends will be received Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until a eulogy and funeral service begins at 11 a.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
