Nella Faye Smith

Nella Faye Smith, 83, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her home.  She was born February 15, 1940 in Floyd County, Kentucky the daughter of Elzie and Lula (Watkins) Poe.

Nella was a homemaker and devoted herself to caring for her 7 children.  She enjoyed gardening, collecting cow figurines.  Nella was a devoted believer in the Lord alongside her husband, and member of Green Springs United Baptist Church.

Nella married Ellis Smith on June 24, 1957, in Salyersville, KY. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2023.  Nella is survived by her three sons: Erwin (Susann) Smith of Bellevue, Gregus (Joyce) Smith of Bluffton, and Delorne (Uylonda) Smith of Berea, KY; four daughters, Tina (Darrin) Hensley of Clyde, Luona Smith of Hamilton, OH, Teresa (Jimmy) Smith of Willard, and Tonya Krupp of Bellevue; 17 grandchildren: Daniel, Molly, Jeremy, Josh, Gwendolyn, Amy, Timothy, Halley, Autumn, Jakob, Izaiah, Colin, Leah, Noah, Logan, Tammy, and Cassandra;  great-grandchildren: Willow, Gunner, Grant, Nehemiah, Margot, Amos, Audra, Ella, Eliza, R.J., Jupiter, Carlisle, Temperance, Landen, Holly, Cooper, Wylie, and Ivy; one brother: Woody Poe of Middle Creek, KY and bonus children, Kyle Krupp, Kim Poe, and Kathryn Faye Jordan..

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by brothers: Isom Poe and Edward B. Poe; five sisters: Mary Caldwell, Rella Mae Sparks, Ellaree Cole, Ruth Poe, and Kathleen Poe. 3 great grandchildren: Gabriel Smith, Levi Smith, and Ezra Sprague.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where a funeral service will begin on Thursday at 1 p.m.   Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery.
