Richard P. Stokes age 64 of Bellevue passed away Apr 6, 2017 at his residence. He was born Feb. 19, 1953 in Bellevue the son of the late LaMar & Patricia Stokes.
He retired from the Sandusky County Health Department where he was a health inspector and also owned and operated Stokes Classic Arms in Bellevue. He was a former Green Creek Twp. Trustee and zoning officer.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and cycling. He participated in many triathlons and mini marathons.
Survivors include his wife; Janice (Hoersten) Stokes who he married Feb. 17, 2016 in Clyde, daughter; Natasha Stokes of Chicago, IL, step-daughter; Shauna Suman of Clyde, step-sons; Troy VanFleet of Bellevue, Tyler VanFleet of Monroeville, 5 step-granddaughters, brothers; Bill Stokes of Clyde, and Jeff Stokes of Draper, UT
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son; Sam Stokes and his sister Julie Stokes.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 11, at 4 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Friends will be received immediately following the service until 6 pm.
