Arthur Shiley Jr., 71, of Clyde passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born June 4, 1945 in Tiffin the son of the late Arthur Sr. and Effie (Wines) Shiley.
Art enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, bowling, and classic cars. He was always quick with a joke and a smile. He loved working with his hands to fix and repair cars, computers, houses, and anything else in order to help others. He was a US Veteran: Military Police in the Army for 7 years, served 2 tours in Vietnam, and also stationed in Germany and Alaska.
Art is survived by his wife, Joyce (Updegraff) Shiley, of Clyde; two sons, Art (Heather) Shiley III of Helena, OH, and Tim McHugh of Sandusky, OH; two daughters, Trisha (David) Brown of Jeffersonville, IN, and Brenda (Chuck) Perry of Clyde, OH; three sisters, Jane Fields of Barboursville, WV, Marge (Chuck) Mendeljian of Temperance, MI, and Kathy Shiley of Bettsville, OH; four grandchildren, Meghan, Serenity, Stormy, and Laurie; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins around Ohio and the U.S.
In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and David Shiley, and his son Casey McHugh.
At Art’s own request services will be private.
