Eric Diezel, 73, of Bellevue passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Providence Care Center in Sandusky. He was born March 8, 1943 in Newark, NJ the son of Erik and Erna Olga (Rascher) Diezel.
Eric was a graduate of Garfield High School (NJ). He enjoyed racing when he was younger. He was employed as a truck driver for many years, but driving truck wasn’t just a job but also a hobby. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He adored his grandchildren, and cherished the time spent playing with them and taking them on trips in his truck.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Miller) whom he married October 2, 1982 at First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk; A son, Timothy (Allison) Grys of New London; daughter, Theresa (Mike) Schieber of Whiteland, IN, daughter in law, Rhonda Grys of Norwalk; 6 grandchildren: Timmy, Tyler, Nicole, Nathan, Audrey and Daniel; 1 great grandchild, Grayson “G-man”; and nieces, Gail Dobler and Debra Coleman, both of Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Lee and Doris.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2016 at Mt. Carmel UMC, 4997 CR 183, Clyde, Ohio 43410. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt. Carmel UMC.
